Ben is the founder and CEO of CIM. He one of the foremost experts in conservation investment and conservation finance in the U.S. He has more than 11 years of experience working with some of the most renowned investors. In parallel to CIM, Ben is also the Chief Investment Officer at WRA, Inc., a mid-size consulting company focused on environmental restoration and management. Prior to founding CIM, Ben was working at New Forests, a sustainable timberland investment group, and was in charge of their mitigation and conservation banking investments globally for the Eco Product Fund, a $50 million investment fund focused on sustainable land management. Ben started his career at the World Bank and at the IFC where he was in charge of sourcing and managing investment opportunities in the conservation space such as sustainable forest management in the Congo Basin or a fly fishing venture in Mongolia. Ben is also an expert witness on complex valuations of environmental assets.

Ben is passionate by the intersection of financial investments, natural resource conservation and local communities. Ben hold a Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA institute. He was originally trained as a wildlife veterinarian and worked in Africa and in south america on wildlife conservation issues for several years.Ben also holds masters degrees in rangeland management, public policy focused on forest, water and environmental management, Energy and Environmental Economics, and environmental anthropology.
